What’s the new “V” ?

Enmarañando mis obsesiones con el Horror y la Fantasía, entre el sutíl concepto de lo natural. ”V” es un proyecto que nace desde lo más recóndito de mi corazón y de mi alma. Hablando desde un punto muy vulnerable y desbordado- aunque simple y directo.

Como primer cortometraje en ‘acción real’, la realización hasta su rodaje fue una aventura nueva, y sin duda ofreció muchos obstáculos y desafíos. Tanto buenos como malos. Pero en fin, se rodó. Y eso en sí es una gran hazaña, por la cual me siento muy orgullosa. ¡Conocí a gente increíble y fue un honor trabajar con tan diferentes artistas! Tan diferentes campos dentro del arte- “Tan cerca pero tan lejos” como algunos dirían.

Para los que lo han hecho, sabrán que organizar un rodaje no es cosa simple. De hecho, es sumamente exhaustivo. Me hizo preguntarme si querría seguir haciendo cine. En especial cine de ‘acción real’… Pero, en fin, si no hay resistencia, a veces las cosas ni lo valen, y ésta sí que valió la pena. De igual forma, mi conclusión fue esta: Seguiré haciendo cine. Todo tipo de cine, y la ‘acción-real’ no será una que dejaré ir tan fácilmente (¿después de un solo corto? ¡ni de #%&!). Tengo más que contar; de hecho, ya ando escribiendo mi próximo corto en ‘acción-real’. También de Terror. Con chispas fantásticas. Como bien me late la sopita.

Pero, regresemos a “V”: Me encuentro ahora con un equipo de Post-Producción, gente totalmente nueva y totalmente creativa <3
De nuevo, otro honor para la producción de esta corta película. La exploración de medios y de talentos. Me encanta la colaboración y de hecho, es mi forma única de dirigir: que el artista con el que esté yo trabajando se sienta PARTE del proceso, en vez de estarle diciendo a la banda qué hacer exactamente. Siempre es interesante dejar que la cabeza del otro se desparrame sobre tu proyecto. ¡Existe el Ctrl-Z! Así que a darle con todo el coco creativo que pueda caber.

Espero que puedan seguir más del proceso, hasta el momento en el que llegue darle cara al mundo. Yo, y el personaje, desnudas y frágiles. Tanto en nuestra mente como en nuestro cuerpo. (Que miedo…)

Entangling my obsessions with Horror and Fantasy, within the subtle concept of what is natural. “V” is a project born from the deepest corners of my heart and soul. It speaks from a very vulnerable and overflowing place—though simple and direct.

As my first live-action short film, everything from its creation to the shoot was a new adventure, and it definitely came with many obstacles and challenges. Both good and bad. But in the end, it was shot. And that alone is a great achievement, one I’m very proud of. I met incredible people, and it was an honor to work with such a diverse group of artists! From such different corners of the art world—"So close yet so far," as some might say.
Those who’ve done it know: organizing a shoot is no simple task. In fact, it’s incredibly exhausting. It made me question whether I even wanted to keep making films—especially live-action ones... But in the end, if there’s no resistance, sometimes it’s not even worth it. And this one was worth it.

So, my conclusion was this: I’ll keep making films. All kinds of films. And live-action won’t be something I let go of so easily (after just one short? Not a #%&! chance!). I have more stories to tell; in fact, I’m already writing my next live-action short. Also horror. With fantasy sparks. Just how I like my soup.

But let’s get back to “V”: I’m now working with a Post-Production team—completely new people and completely creative <3 Another honor for the production of this short film. A true exploration of mediums and talent. I love collaboration— it’s my unique way of directing: making the artist I’m working with feel like PART of the process, rather than just telling them exactly what to do. It’s always interesting to let someone else’s mind spill into your project. There’s always Ctrl-Z! So let’s go all in with every bit of creativity we can fit. I hope you’ll be able to follow along with the process, right up until the moment it faces the world.
